What is your responsibility?
“The main tasks are to provide the tools and support to Swedish Match employees so they are able to do their jobs well. These are huge tasks and require tough decisions. We are determined to add value and make a positive difference to all Swedish Match employees. In HR, we work hard to make other people successful.”
What is today’s biggest challenge in Human Resources?
“One of the biggest challenges is trying to deliver the best possible HR services to employees when many are faced with issues that need immediate attention. Our jobs are to provide the tools and support to others so that they are able to do their jobs well.”
What’s on your top priority list at the moment?
“Since Human Resources recently assumed full responsibility for Labor Relations in the U.S, one of my top priorities is collective bargaining contract interpretation, administration and labor relations. Also, we are implementing a new Human Resource Management System which is expected to go live before year-end, so we are all working diligently to maximize system capability and ensure a smooth transition. I also assist in resolving HR issues in the Dominican Republic operations. Another priority in 2009 for me will be auditing every HR function in each of our North American facilities, as well as the Dominican Republic, to determine how we can improve our collective work processes.”
