Marie Lindvall

“I am responsible for the Pilot Plant at the snus plant in Gothenburg, Sweden. This is a development department where testing is conducted on new flavors, the compactibility of snus and various packaging and formats.”

“It is an inspiring and challenging task to adapt the production process to new snus varieties. Speed and flexibility are our strengths, but we can always do better.”

Marie LindvallWhat are your priorities at present?

“We’re currently building up a stock of new plant equipment. The aim is to create an efficient flow, lean production. Each packing machine will have its own flow without unnecessary transportation between various machines. The result will be increased flexibility with shorter lead times, which in turn will generate greater productivity. To manage various varieties of boxes and lids, we will be commissioning and testing our new spider robot in the autumn.”

What challenges lie ahead at the plant?

“A major challenge is being able to rapidly adapt the production process to new snus varieties. Speed and flexibility are our strengths but there is always room for improvement. It will also be exciting to see how much we can shorten production lead times.”

What motivates you at work?

“Achieving set goals and continuously improving results jointly with my staff. Since I want us to keep our promises, we must be agile and act forcefully by, for example, developing our work methods. I am proud when we at the Pilot Plant can show that our products generate favorable results.”
