Moist snuff is a form of oral tobacco with high level of moisture. It can be divided into three groups: Swedish snus, traditional American moist snuff and other moist snuff. It is commonly marketed in loose or pouch form. While Swedish snus is pasteurized and put under the upper lip, American moist snuff is a fermented product is usually placed under the lower lip. The different products also differ in taste.
